Pack parents are expected to be active within the Pack and attend all Den and Pack meetings and activities. The Cub Scout program is designed to be family oriented with parent involvement lessening during the Webelos and Arrow of Light years and into the later Scouting years. Parent involvement within the Cub Scout program can include leading a meeting, helping with activities for the Den or Pack, coordinating our service projects, serving on a planning committee, collecting donations for events, providing a snack/food item for a trip, staffing product sales table, etc.
Pack parents agree to keep up to date with Pack dues, to complete Youth Protection Training online and present your completion card to the Pack secretary, and to complete a medical form for every member of the family that will be attending outings with the Pack.
Pack 215 uses Scoutbook to track each Scout’s advancement, attendance, account, and awards. Parents are asked to sign up for a free account to keep connected with the Pack as well as to help track their Scouts’ advancements progress and account. Sign up at www.scoutbook.com. You can also download the Scoutbook app for your smartphone.
Volunteering is another way you can get involved. Being a volunteer in Scouting America means you have registered as an adult and have completed the following items. Not all volunteers work directly with youth. Many serve in positions that support those who do.
Complete an adult application online ($65/yr registration fee).
Complete required training and send certificates to pack215stmark@gmail.com
Scouting America's S.A.F.E. Guarding Youth Training (must be completed prior to the adult application being submitted)
Position-Specific Training for your position online (through your my.scouting.org account)
Den Leaders | Cubmasters and Assistant Cubmasters | Pack Committee and Committee Chair
If not already submitted, complete an Annual Scouts Medical Form and turn it into the Pack Secretary.
Obtain an adult leader's uniform (Cubmaster, Assistant Cubmaster, and Den Leaders. Not required for Committee Members.)
